  • I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders from Calvin University in Grand Rapids, MI in 2002. I earned my Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2004 at University of Virginia. Immediately after graduate school, I simultaneously worked in the school system and at a skilled nursing facility for 2 years, until I transitioned to working exclusively with adults in the medical setting. I have spent the majority of my career working at academic institutions, including Stanford Hospital and University of Virginia Hospital in the acute care setting. During my time at Stanford, I also worked at skilled nursing facilities, acute rehab hospitals, and long-term acute care centers on the weekends. I am currently ASHA certified and Virginia licensed.   • Dr. Thompson has been practicing as a physical therapist since 2007. He has worked in both outpatient orthopedic and inpatient physical therapy settings, including major medical institutions such as University of North Carolina Hospitals and Indiana University Health Hospitals, as well as rural hospital systems.
