    Dr. Francis Deng is an expert in neuroradiology, specializing in diagnostic imaging of the head, neck, brain, and spine. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard College and earned his medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine. He then completed a medical internship at the Brigham and Women's Hospital, followed by diagnostic radiology residency and neuroradiology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital, both affiliates of Harvard Medical School. Dr. Deng is a recognized educator both locally and internationally. He has authored chapters in bestselling textbooks such as First Aid for the USMLE Step 1 and Core Radiology: A Visual Approach to Diagnostic Imaging. He is an Editor of Radiopaedia.org and was Co-Convener of the Radiopaedia 2024 Virtual Conference, which had more than 13,000 registrants globally. With MRI Online, he is Co-Director of the Brain & Spine Neuroradiology Fellowship Certificate and on the faculty for the Stroke Imaging Fellowship Certificate program. For several high-impact radiology journals, Dr. Deng has received distinguished reviewer awards and served in editorial roles. He was a Visiting Scholar with the American Board of Medical Specialties in 2023-2024 and, as a student, served on the Board of Directors of the National Resident Matching Program. Dr. Deng has an academic interest in diagnostic excellence and error. Locally, he holds regular quality assurance conferences for radiology residents to learn from misses and misinterpretations. He hosts a podcast series on this topic published under the aegis of the American Journal of Roentgenology. He also serves as an expert witness in medical liability/malpractice cases.
  • Dr. Russo combines a law enforcement career spanning four decades with research based solutions to public safety issues. His research has focused on emerging technology and law enforcement applications, including the exploration of the use of automatic vehicle locators in efforts to improve response time to calls for service, computer solutions to assist the law enforcement function and the utilization of unmanned flight systems in public safety applications. In addition to technology based research, Dr. Russo has explored post-traumatic stress disorder (PSTD) related issues as well as organizational management and resource utilization. Dr. Russo instructed for many years in law enforcement and corrections academies as well as instructing advanced and specialized training courses for those audiences. He held advanced instructor certifications in firearms, defensive tactics, driving, TASER, and speed measurement devices. Dr. Russo is presently engaged in several research projects ranging from PTSD related research to human trafficking to use of force to data utilization by public safety. Dr. Russo has several authored articles and book contributions being released over the next few years in addition to multiple conference presentations and panel participations planned for the immediate future.
